La Playuela is a very special beach, since it is located by the most impressive attraction in Cabo Rojo. This protected and quiet cove is surrounded by tall cliffs and gives you a great view of the Los Morrillos Lighthouse.
To the opposite side are Las Salinas (Salt Flats) so no matter where you look all you see is a great picture perfect scene.
The waters at La Playuela are very calm, warm, with shades of blue and green that are mostly crystal clear on a sunny day. During the week this beach is usually quiet with very few visitors, on the weekends and Easter week (when photos were taken) it can get pretty full but still just as fun and relaxing to be there. The road to the beach and lighthouse is a dirt road that is a bit bumpy which in my opinion adds to the charm of the area and allows nature to shine through since there are not paved roads. As you drive to the beach you may notice many types of birds since this area is a protected natural sanctuary. This is one of those places you should see before you die. I hope you come soon.
