While at the beach and under the sun, there are all kinds of activities to fill your vacation with fun and excitement. Go swimming in calm waters, snorkel and discover friendly and playful schools of fish, scuba dive colorful coral reefs, rent a jet ski, go boating around the coast to see the scenery, go fishing for tarpon, and the list goes on. Cycle through forests, ride up to caves, climb up to cliffs and discover the sights of Los Morillos with vistas of a secluded bay with white sand and turquoise waters. Dining

Fresh and Best Seafood Restaurans in Puerto Rico is in Cabo Rojo.Locals from all over Puerto Rico go to Cabo Rojo to savor the best and freshest seafood on the island. Go to the town of Boqueròn after a day at the beach and savor fresh oysters and clams with lemon juice. The "Pueblo" of Cabo Rojo has a vast choice of restaurants offering succulent dishes with fresh seafood and the bonus of colorful sunsets as you wine and dine by the sea. The only problem is choosing where to dine, there are many restaurants from fine dining some among Puerto Rico's Mesones Gastronomicos, casual restaurants and "bars & grills" along the coast.


Fishing

Image PreviewIf you love fishing, you will fall in love with Cabo Rojo or may end up even consider moving there or buying a place to come and fish often. Cabo Rojo is a fishing village and half of the fish consumed on the island comes from Cabo Rojo. When you visit make sure to go to the village of Puerto Real from around 11:30am to 12:30 when the local fisherman come in with their catch of the day. It is fun just waiting by the dock just to see how lucky they got in their morning rounds.

There are several charters and certified captains that will be happy to take you into the ocean for many different Caribbean fish including the fun to catch Tarpon which there are plenty in Cabo Rojo to keep you having fun bringing them in to your boat. Golfing

 

Club Deportivo del Oeste 18 - hole Golf Course was designed by Jack Bender and opened in 1965. This course will challenge you with the most difficult opening hole on the island. The Club Deportivo golf course is part of a private club but it is open to the public from 7am - 5pm daily. 787-851-8880 Golf Shop 787-254-3748

You will find yourself in a downhill or uphill lie most of the time since the golf course is located in a hilly terrain. Beautiful greens, challenging fun and stunning ocean views of the Caribbean at Club Deportivo in Cabo Rojo, PR.


Hiking

If you love nature and birds you will have a very enjoyable time in Cabo Rojo. You can explore the Wildlife Refuge of Cabo Rojo and hike about 12 miles where you can admire sights of birds, the sights and ocean vistas are breathtaking. Don't leave without hiking up the hill to the cliffs of Los Morillos Lighthouse, the most breathtaking location of Cabo Rojo.


Mona Island - (La Isla Mona)

Not many know about what is called "The Galapagos of the Caribbean" and the "Caribbean's Best Secret" Most tourists often think of Puerto Rico's beaches and towns as crowded and very populated. Well, this is no San Juan, Isla Mona is in fact very populated but by a variety of animals. The underwater world is paradise for snorkeler and scuba divers. The coral reefs are very healthy and Isla Mona is among the top scuba and snorkeling spots in the Caribbean.
